None of us would ever forget that terrible Tuesday-that changed America forever. Images of burning World Trade Centers in New York City, nearly demolished Pentagon in Washington DC, and shattered field of Shanksville, Pennsylvania where Flight 93 had crashed- forever burned into our minds and left an inprint in the world history. Five years later, America still struggles to protect its borders from zealous terrorists who want to shake the foundation of our country. The words that President Bush uttered through the megaphone as he stood on burning rubble of the demolished buildings were heard loud and clear for all the nations that sponsore terrorist activities: "Terrorist attacks can shake the foundations of our biggest buildings, but they cannot touch the foundation of America. These acts shatter steel, but they cannot dent the steel of American resolve.” America clearly proved that it can stand even through such difficult times as September 11 by uniting as one nation to perusue justice for the barbaric acts. The war on terror is not over (and will not be for a long time). As the years go, many are prone to forget the heroic acts of countless police and firefighting personnel. As we mark the five year anniversary of American wound, our deepest condolences goes to the victims' family members and to all who are sacrificing their lives to secure American boundaries in many parts of the world such as Iraq and Afghanistan.
